It’s that time of year once again; have you contacted your local area Girl Scout #CookieBoss and placed your order. Whether it’s for a box or two or an entire case or two, which may or may not hold your family over until next years cookie run. I’m not here to judge, we personally go though a couple of cases each year.

My granddaughters a member of our local Girl Scout group. Our family was super impress with her cookie sales last year, a little bird told me she has once again set her cookie sales goal high again this year; and you know this grandma will be helping support her and her goals buy purchasing girl scout cookies through Miss K. (insert jazz hands).

I can remember being a girl scout when I was young (think back to the 60’s and 70’s, tie dye and bell bottoms.) our group went on field trips, hikes I even remember a camping trip and lots of arts and craft activities during our after school meetings. It brings a smile to my heart to know some things stay the same, maybe not the overall experience but the true meaning behind being a Girl Scout; building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

My granddaughter (our local #CookieBoss) attended summer camp with her friends last summer, where she made friendships that will last a life time. She opted to attend the week-long camp session, where activities range from horse back riding, swimming and crafts and so much more. She helps out by earning funds toward her summer camp experience by selling Girl Scout Cookies; have you helped a local Girl Scout reach her cookie sales goal?

The Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the world. Girls who participate in the Cookie Program are doing so much more than selling a wonderful box of cookies. The girls are learning five essential life skills:

Setting Goals.

Money Management.

Business Ethics.

Decision Making.

People Skills.

The 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Program begins January 3 with girls taking pre-orders and continues through March 9.

The girls are “on their honor” to not begin taking orders until the official start date of the program. we appreciate all the support and guidance parents provide to girls while assisting them in having a successful and fun Girl Scout Cookie Program.

Not sure where to locate an area girl scout so you can purchase Girl Scout Cookies which will help fund an area girl in Girl Scout Activities throughout the year? Check you local area sales here.
