Our family will once again take to Missouri Ozark’s Lakes and Rivers beginning this weekend; creating the perfect relaxing time for Father’s Day.

I can’t think of a more relaxing time than being with family and friends as we gather at our area lake for some much-needed rest and relaxation; starting with the camping, hiking, boating as well as a spin on the jet skis. During our time on the water, we observe safety rules and regulations as always wear a life vest.

I’ve always felt the pull of the water, I’m perfectly content sitting in a relaxing chair with a glass of sweet tea and a good book listening to the water or watching the tide for hours. I think my first memory of being around the water was when our family visited Lake Michigan as a child. I can’t remember anything about this trip except I was in awe of the large body of water before me. My next memory is spent taking a road trip from Missouri to Kansas, our family rented a pop up camper pulled by our station wagon and let me tell you I don’t know how my parents held on for the duration of this trip with all 6 of us cooped up in the car {insert shiver} without air-conditioning. We join our Aunt, Uncle and cousins at the lake for a fun-filled week of family time and my first experience fishing from a small boat; I learned that summer you do not drink a large beverage before boarding a small boat and heading out at night to fish, enough said. As I became a teenager I started canoeing and tubing with my friends and their families and let me tell you that very first trip down our area river had me HOOKED. I seriously could not get enough of lazy afternoons floating down the river or creek with a fishing pole, yep makes life just about perfect. I had the pleasure of deep sea fishing once while I was in Washington State, this was an experience that left me thirsting for more. I can’t wait to someday fulfill my bucket wish list item of taking a cruise or twenty; I mean think of all the exciting places you can go all while aboard a ship and cruising from port to port.

What are you waiting for, pack up the family and head out for adventures on your area waterways; creating memories that will last a lifetime? Where will you’re boating adventures take you?

I love boating. Of course I love the water – pretty much anything on or in the water is an oasis for me.

    1. LeahSay

I feel the same way Athena. I’d own a home near the water if I could.

I’ve always loved rowing a boat—it has been so long–I really should head off to where I can rent one for the day.

Tie the boat to the dock and relax reading a book while the tide rocks the boat. Yep I’d be in heaven. That is exactly the thing I thing I think about when I can’t sleep. The tide rocking me to sleep and the sound of the waves coming in.
