Organizational Storage Solutions from BrylaneHome

BrylaneHome Shoe Collage

Fall is definitely in the air here in the Ozarks and I don’t know about you but I develop a deep need to clean and purge my home before the house becomes closed up for the long winter months ahead; basically spring cleanings done twice a year in our home.

I believe the attendants at the local donation centers get an extra work out when we arrive. I stand by the rule if I have not worn it in the past year/season it needs to go. Same with every other object in the house. I can’t stand clutter. And besides whats the point of keeping a broken fan or a worn out pair of boots or other items; simply because someone once used it or touched it (unless your have famous movie stars in the family). Geez already if it’s junk or trash simply get rid of it, you’ll feel better knowing your homes uncluttered. Donate or offering items for free is a great way to dispose of unused VCR tapes 😉 along with every thing else you wish to rid your home of.

When I owned my own daycare I kept a “box” wooden crate near the door. When the children wanted to take their shoes off they placed them in the box which cut down on “lets find little Billy’s shoe” once his parents arrive. The grandchildren would do the same thing when they visited; even today they place their shoes near the door automatically when visiting. Such a nice and tidy thing all those tiny toddler shoes lined up by the door and not tossed willy nilly all over the house; which in turn grandma is sure to trip over.

I received the 15 Pair Shoe Organizer from BrylaneHome to facilitate my review.*

The 15-Pair Shoe Organizer measures: 19″ H x 11 1/1″ D x 24″ L. Made from MDF material. Assembly is required.

The box was a little heavy when it arrived; yes I know I’m a weakling, no super hero family genes here. Once you opened the box all the boards are cut and predrilled and ready for assembly. It didn’t take much time to put together. Once together the children started placing their shoes directly into the box, smart cookies they knew exactly what it was for.

Immediately we noticed the larger adult sized athletic shoes would each need a separate box (see the pair in the top two left hand corner in the picture above; the shoes are size 7.5 woman’s). The children’s shoes fit nicely into the separate boxes, which will allow more pairs to be stored at once.  I did go back and reference the BrylaneHome original picture just to make sure about the shoe sizes. The shoes in the picture shown online (and below) are flats, which are thinner and therefore a “pair” of adult shoes would fit into each allotted slot.

Over all I give the shoe organizer a good review. I feel that you’ll need to judge for yourself and know exactly what type of shoes/size you will be using the organizer for. I feel it works best for children’s shoes, with ample space on top for maybe a basket for mittens and caps along with a pair of winter boots.
