Our Family Spent The Day Floating Down The Lazy River And Splashing In The Pool At Parrot Island Waterpark
I received Parrot Island Waterpark entry tickets to facilitate a review.*
Our family was super excited when we found out we were going back to Parrot Island Water Park for a second time, especially our kids!
We were lucky enough to go last summer and enjoyed it so much.
Our kids are a little older now, just under 10 and 9, but tall enough to ride the water slides. Last year, only my husband and son rode them, but this year my daughter and I decided to give them a try (well, one anyway… The Blue Macaw). She was really nervous, but went down and after some nervous-I-can’t-believe-I-just-did-that tears, she went another 4 times. She enjoyed it so much!
Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The staff seems very attentive and willing to help if you have any questions. After we got our wristbands on and the kids measured, we changed in the changing rooms, which were clean, besides your typical water on the floor (it is a water park). We rented another locker this year, one size up from last year, which cost us $8, but fit two bags, 4 pairs of shoes, a towel, and other small accessories.
The kids wanted to go straight for the lazy river this time around, so we went around about 3 times, enjoying the waterfalls to cool us off. It was about 95 degrees the day we went. The park is laid out nicely, which is one reason why we enjoy it so much. It’s smaller and quicker to get from place to place. There are a ton of lifeguards, who seemed to be doing a good job making sure people waited until it was safe to go down a slide, or just paying attention to what was happening.
Don’t forget to pack goggles, earplugs, sunscreen,* beach towels,* along with any other swim items your family may need. Read about our trip to the KC Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
We spent a little over 3 hours at the park. The favorite was the wave pool. A big reason why we wanted to one back. I don’t know of another wave pool in the area. Even though it’s not huge, its plenty big enough to have some fun in. While my husband and the kids enjoy getting knocked over by the waves or jumping into them as they break, I found myself laying right on the edge where the last bit of waves come and wash over you. I enjoyed watching the clouds roll by, listening to the splash of water, people enjoying themselves, the music in the background, and soaking up the sun.
Thank you Parrot Island for letting us come to enjoy your park a second time. We hope to be back. I recommend this park to everyone who is in the area. Read more about our previous waterpark visits here.
