My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas

Quick! Grab the tinsel, bows and stocking. Just in time to celebrate the holidays with My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas returns to DVD on October 8, 2013 from Shout! Kids Factory and Hasbro Studios! Originally released in 2005, A Very Minty Christmas is the first film to be released for Shout! Factory’s new My Little Pony Classic Movies reissue program, which will make favorite titles available to fans once again.

The “Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane” is an important port of Ponyville; it’s the beacon that shows jolly old Santa Claus the way to the town as he makes his holiday rounds each year. But when Minty accidentally breaks it, uh-oh! It looks like Ponyville is destined to have a bleak holiday season. Minty is determined to do anything to save Christmas for her Pony friends while they, in turn band together to try and cheer up their despondent friend. Together they will discover Christmas can come anyway, all wrapped in love from good friends and the over-sized heart of one little clumsy, minty-green Pony!

As most of you know I have several grandchildren, four of them being girls. Let me just say the little girls were and still are thrilled with both DVD’s. I can see that My Little Pony had passed the test of time; I can say this because I can remember my own daughter having a love for all things “My Little Pony” and then my older granddaughter as well. That means My Little Pony has passed through our lives often since the 80’s; I promise we left the mullet hair cut back in the 80’s 😉

The girls have been enjoying The Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony often. The funny thing is… you know how when you’re trying to watch a program you really with to see; yet the children are being a bit rambunctious or OK, loud. Well the girls have been giving me the evil stink eye or shushing me if I make too much noise while they are watching their program. Seriously!

For this alone I give both DVD’s a BIG thumbs up and I honestly believe they would both make excellent holiday or birthday gifts!
