As a mother I’ve battled stains with every load a washing with 20 Mule Team Borax, which lifted the majority of our everyday laundry stains. As a grandmother my laundry chores been reduced from a daily job to a couple of days a week. I’ve done a bit of research for a tough stain remover for our farm clothing stains as well a Mr’s grease stains from his job, that I can apply directly to the stains when and if I see them before they hit the hamper.
Since Fels-Naptha has over 100 years of stain fighting power, cleaning America’s toughest stains I’ve decided to go with what works best on tough stains.
After much research I decided to try creating my own stain remover spray. Something I could spray on our stained clothing, roll up and toss in the hamper to sit until laundry day; all without damaging our clothes. Purex Fels-Naptha is the laundry bar that works overtime to remove your toughest stains. Whether its dirt, ring-around-the-collar, grease, a bar of Purex Fels-Naptha is the perfect solution.
I grated about ¼ of a bar of Purex Fels-Naptha into a sauce pan of warm water (enough to fill my extra-large spray bottles), which I stirred until it was completely dissolved. After the mixture cooled, I poured my liquid stain fighter into 2 spray bottles. I purchased my spray extra-large bottles at our local farm store. Now as soon as I detect a stain I spray the area then roll up the article of clothing and toss into the laundry hamper. Works like a charm. I’ve even been able to remove those tough toddler stains around sleeve cuffs, which means the children’s clothing will last longer.

My new favorite laundry additive is Purex Crystals. I love the long-lasting fresh scent added to my bedding and bath towels. I add about ½ a capful to each load and when I pull fresh bedding from the closet days later, it still smells freshly laundered.
