Flowers, I’ll be the first to admit I enjoy flowers in all shapes, colors in a mixed variety of blossoms and blooms. I received the Lavender Rose and Lily Celebration bouquet to facilitate my review* from fromyouflowers.com
The flowers arrived in the sturdy box show above, wrapped in floral paper and suspended in the box via a pre-cut cardboard insert. Upon opening the box I was greeted by the fresh scent of blossoms (this is where scratch and sniff pictures would be nice). I removed the wrapped flowers from the packaging and found the care instructions for my flowers to ensure I’m able to enjoy my blooms for the maximum amount of time.
1. Mix flower food and warm water in a vase. Warm water is suggested because flowers do not absorb cold water as quickly.
2. Even wilted flowers can be revived by submerging them in fresh, warm water in as little a 10 minutes.
3. Using scissors, cut the stems diagonally (at least half an inch) under running water. This allows the stems to begin “drinking” immediately. Start arranging your flowers.
4. Place flowers in a vase. DO NOT keep near drafts or in direct sunlight. Some flowers will bloom quickly, others will open more slowly. Buds gradually open in 2-4 days starting from the base of the stem.
5. Don’t forget. Add fresh water everyday. Also re-cut stems every other day to help them absorb water.
6. Prune your flowers of unwanted leaves and blossoms over time. This will encourage other blooms to open.
The first moments just after arranging the blooms in the vase. They did look a little wilted when I first opened them but they quickly bounced back and looked freshly cut in under a half an hour.
The next morning as I was stumbling and bumbling my way into the kitchen to start my morning coffee I was delighted by the sight that awaited me on the dining room table. I simply had to stop and admire them before making my way to my much need caffeine fix.
Each day new buds open and others need to be removed, which caused my blooms to last for an extended period of time. I’ve enjoyed my “Just Because” flowers each time I walk past my table.
