Once I “saw” Katria in my dream or alpha state muddle, I realized she looked a Lot like Stana Katic, who plays Kate Beckett on “Castle” television show. I know, my character’s name looks like Stana’s name. However, I have always loved the name Katia, and over the years, friends have dubbed me, Katia-along with every other ethnic derivative of Catherine. It’s been five years or more since that dream and Katia’s story is just coming out now. I wanted a character who was career driven to the point that she had no other life. When that career is in jeopardy, she realizes she has nothing because she’s created nothing else for herself. She’s desperate to save what she thinks is most important to her. However, in order for her to evolve, to embrace her future, she has to face the mistake of her past. For over a decade, Katia has walled up her heart and used only her brain, ambition and logic to guide her. She’s forgotten all the friends she had in Indian Lake and most of all she’s forgotten the intense love she had for Austin. She thinks her act of contrition is simply a step toward saving her career. Gaining Austin’s business is almost as impossible as gaining his trust.Knowing that choosing her career is the right decision for her, Katia doesn’t understand why she is miserable. However, the man who has never stopped loving her has moved out of town, leaving her no chance to make amends.
