The Tahoe Backpack Cooler system would be perfect for travel, hunting, fishing, day hikes, picnics, a trip to the beach, tailgating, canoeing and more.
The first thing I noticed upon opening the shipment box and removing the Tahoe backpack was the weight of the bag it’s self. The empty bag weighs in a 4 pounds. Which is perfect because you do not want the empty bag weight to be heavy, before you even begin adding your travel supplies. Which will just cause undue pressure on your back during a hike.
I liked the way the weight would be distributed when loaded. The heavy and bulky chair, rods etc will be attached right up next to the back of the bag, up close to your back, thus not pulling the bag down with the bulky weight and size.
The zipper and bag are sound and sturdy and the bag can be wiped clean after use.
The only flaw I could find was in the cooler portion of the bag. Once you’ve added water bottles and attached the cooler to the backpack with the clips provided. It felt as if the bag was pulling away from the body. After some rearranging of the items in the bag and then lightening the cooler; the weight distribution felt less awkward. Therefore I’m going to assume it was user error.
I’m sure once the warmer months arrive and the backpack has seen a few Ozark camping, fishing and canoeing trips, we will have worked out the proper packing technique. 😉
I realize this in not our normal outdoor photo, which we normally shoot with products of this type. However, we’ve been under snow and ice for over a week now with more to come. Sorry but some of the ice will need to melt before I venture outdoors.* Meaning… I will not be snowboarding any time soon
