Welcome To The Summer Heat Hop Event
Hosted by Planet Weidknecht and LeahSay’s Views
Event runs July 5 – 20, 2015.
Our Sponsor Is… Greenwillow Books!
Are YOU searching for the perfect bedtime story? Greenwillow Books, and imprint of HarperCollins Children’s Books, is proud to announce the publication of Touch the Brightest Star (ages 2-6) an ingenious, interactive picture book that is “tech-free”, yet page after page children enjoy tapping, touching, blinking and whispering in order to see the magic happen on the next page.
What happens while you’re sleeping? With lush, beautiful watercolors and cut paper collage, Christie Matheson reveals the magic of the nighttime sky, using the same kinds of toddler perfect interactive elements as her acclaimed Tap the Magic Tree. Wave good-by to the sun, gently press the firefly, make a wish upon a star, rub the owls on their heads, and… shhh. No two reading of this book will be the same with your child’s interaction. That, along with the gently, soothing rhythm, makes Touch the Brightest Star a bedtime winner, no matter haw many times you and your child read it.
“A charming bedtime story.” ~School Library Journal
“A delightful bedtime book that encourage both imaginative play and restorative rest.” ~Kirkus
“This exploration of the world at night should be inviting to even the very youngest children, who will also enjoy its imagination rules and child powered interactivity.” ~The Horn Book

My favorite when I was in elementary was The Polar Express and Where the Wild Things Are. And I’m happy I’m able to share them with my son.

I only remember reading Little Women and Nancy Drew books. I also had a partial set of ‘knowledge’ books about rocks, shells, trees, plants, dinosaurs, etc.
