I the reviewer have been compensated in the form of the product Dyson DC65 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum for free from Best Buy.*
Right up front I want to thank Best Buy not only for choosing me as a Dyson DC65 Animal product reviewer, but for the amount of support and understanding during my lengthy illness. Which basically means my review was pushed back for several weeks. Thank you!
Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty business of dirt and the fact that I can not stand for my floors to appear dirty. Yep, I’m one of those people. If you come into my home and I see something out-of-place or dirt on the floor I will sit there carrying on a nice conversation all the while I’m feeling uncomfortable because I can see the dirt and I know you can see the dirt, and so on and so forth. Like I said before I’m a wee bit OCD.
The Dyson DC65 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum – Gray and Purple model is available at your local Best Buy.
The Dyson cleans better than any other vacuum across carpets and hard floors.

As you can see in the photo above the ball helps the vacuum to maneuver around corners unlike a standard vacuum. The first time I turned on my new Dyson Animal I was impressed with the way I could maneuver around furniture and corners with ease. This is a very helpful thing when you suffer from arthritis and pushing a vacuum normally wears me out.
Look at the reach you can have with the extending wand and hose. No more stretching or attempting to stand/balance on a chair to reach the far corners for cob webs anymore.
I knew the Dyson Animal was arriving in a few days so I decided to vacuum my home one last time with my old vacuum just for comparison reasons, it certainly wasn’t for sentimental reasons. Once my nephew unboxed my vacuum and put it together we each gave it a quick spin through the living room. Then the next day I decide to get down to business because I wanted to see just how much dirt the Dyson Animal would pick up even though I’d just vacuumed 2 days before. Do you see the disgusting dirt level in the picture above. It’s enough to give me cold chills just thinking of all the times I “thought” my floors were clean and the grandchildren were down on the rugs playing. Eww.
One of the things I like the best is, with the quick tap of the button you can unhook the dirt canister. Then take it outdoors to dump into a plastic bag. I say outdoors because of the dust factor. Then snap it back on and your ready to go. You only need to clean the HEPA filters every few months, depending upon usage.
Don’t forget to register your Dyson as soon after your purchase for your warranty! You will find a handy reminder directly on your Dyson.
My overall opinion is… It’s true, Dyson cleans better than any other vacuum across carpets and hard floors.
The vacuum was easy to push with the self-propelled action and the ball helps maneuvering around corners and furniture with ease. Yes, I did have a learning curve with the vacuum but by the third time vacuuming I was a pro. A couple of things I really like were the extra long cord which allows me to vacuum the entire house with only moving the cord once! As well and the extra long hose to reach those hard to reach areas. Perfect for those of us who do not need to be up on a chair trying to balance not only ourselves but handle the vacuum wand as well. A my number on favorite thing about my new DC65 Animal Dyson is the suction! I could actually see the rug being sucked up from the floor while I was vacuuming.
Now that I’ve had the opportunity to see the Dyson in action, I can say without a doubt I wouldn’t want to give my Dyson up.
What do you vacuum with? Give Dyson a test drive you won’t be sorry.
