I’ve Discovered My New Favorite Fry Pan And I’ve Been Putting It To The Test!

I’ve owned several different types, brands, of fry skillets all ranging in weight and durability. I can remember one fry fan in particular that I owned back in the late 80’s maybe early 90’s that was supposed to be “the fry pan” to beat all others. After using it for about 2 months consistently cooking for 6, I noticed one night as I was browning thick ham slices in honey… that when I went to turn the meat over to brown/glaze the other side of the ham slices… the bits of the fry pan coating was clinging to the meat. I was so upset. I was a single mom trying to feed my family and I had just finished working (working 2 jobs) and here I am scrambling to try to find something else for dinner to feed my hungry teenage boy (if you’ve ever raised boy’s you know how much they can eat bless their hearts) and their sisters. At this point I was so tired and getting angry so I may or may not have opened the back door and thrown the pan, ham and all as hard as I could across the backyard. Which I later had to pick up once my snit fit calmed down.

The WOLL diamond reinforced nonstick coated cast aluminum cookware has been a mom/grandma’s dream come true. The pan is just heavy enough to ensure even heat distribution and even browning and searing when cooking over the surface of the fry. With my arthritis I didn’t want another really heavy fry pay, as I own a couple of really nice cast iron skillets I’ve used for years but to be truthful I have trouble lifting them when they are empty not to mention when they have food in them. I’ve retired those pans to the back of my cabinet and haven’t reached for one in over 2 years.

The pan has outstanding heat retention properties. I turned the heat completely off under the rice dish shown about and covered with the lid. The rice was still steaming hot when I was ready to serve dinner which was delayed by an unexpected guest.
