Nothing says slow down and relax quite like an afternoon spent on the water with family and friends tossing in a line and then… bam the adrenaline begins pumping once you’ve felt that snag on your line, your heart starts pumping as you reel in the line; once you realize it’s a keeper your face lights up and your ready to toss the line right back in those deep blue waters you’ve called you’re stomping grounds for more years than you can count.

Maybe you’re more the get in and get wet type of boater. The thrill of gliding across the waves on a wake board, skis or tube. It doesn’t matter, we’ve all developed a love of boating as well as feel the pull of the water come quitting time.

Take a close look at the photo above, not only are these fine ladies enjoying mother nature while releasing stress preforming yoga, all the while perfectly balanced upon a paddle-board! I tip my hat in appreciation. I’m the opposite of grace but this would be something I would like to try once. Who knows maybe I’d become hook since I enjoy being near the water so much. Would you consider connecting with your inner self while your eyes are closed and the waves are gently lapping all the while balanced upon a paddle-board?

When the weekend hits are you ready to step out of work mode and head to your area lakes, rivers and waterfronts? Have you passed your love of boating, fishing and water sports on to your children and family? Plan a trip soon and get boating America!

My children and grandchildren head to our area Ozark water ways as often as possible. With boats, jet skis and all the items need for a great day on the water as well a camping and fishing.

I’ll be headed back to Branson, Missouri next month; while visiting I plan to hit the area lake for a bit of area history, during a dinner cruise. I can hardly wait since I’ll be combining two of my favorite things, history and the water!
