How many of you, have a first birthday approaching in your family. Betty Crocker has a list of favorite first birthday “smash” cakes listed on their site along with the recipes and decorating ideas, to help make that first birthday cake a smashing success.

I can remember stressing over my first-born sons first birthday cake as if I were creating a wedding cake fit for royalty.  Only to watch as it turned into a smash cake with in moments. Looking back on the event, I would have chosen to make my days leading up to the event and everyone else near me less stressful by creating a child size smash cake. Trust me when I say I stress over things like this. Truly none of us can remember our first birthday cake, but the pictures are always priceless. Save yourself and the extra work by creating a simple yet stunning cake for your child’s birthday. Make sure to have the camera ready to snap the memorable moments on film for future generations to see.
