As most of you know it has been a scorcher here in the Ozarks this summer.
We finally received some much-needed rain over the past week; for which we are so grateful. During our annual Fourth of July Celebration, we were rightly concerned about the possibility of fire from not only our family’s fireworks but the homes around us. Not to mention the heat factor. The little ones were jumping for joy when we pulled out the Original Bomb Pop treats!

Our family (by our family I mean ME) started the 4th of July off the same as I do each year. I prep and cook as much as I can the day before but I always have numerous things to finish up the day of. Once all the food (tons) is placed into the coolers yes more than one, extra clothes (someone’s bound to need extras), swimming gear for the pool; along with all the extras needed for the full day of BBQ, family fun, and fireworks. Then the muscle needs to tote it all out to the truck for the trip, this is Mr.s job. Now mind you we did this twice this year. Once at my sons and then again at my brothers, so all the items I listed above… double that.

Upon arrival, the children are already in full-blown GO mode. Go play ball. Go ride bikes. Go Swimming. Go play games. Go, go, go. We were lucky this year because we had several boxes of refreshing, cold Bomb Pop treats to pass around throughout the hot day and well into the evening.

We were given a treat in the night sky. The neighbors lit up the sky for a long time with beautiful night works for all to enjoy.

They were truly “official city” fireworks worthy. Which left us ready for yet another round of refreshment before the trip home.
