As the holiday season draws near I find myself once again taking comfort in the traditional and classic holiday movies. Just this past week I listened to Irving Berlin’s White Christmas while working. My granddaughter paid a visit over the weekend and during her visit we watched A Christmas Story along with a few other memorable holiday movies. I can hardly believe this was her first time watching A Christmas Story. Myself being a long time fan of Ralphie and his family christmas traditions played out upon the big screen; I laughed during all the proper moments. My granddaughter however took a more reserved look at the movie during the first few minutes, however once the “I double dog dare” and “triple dog dares” started being tossed around like snowflakes falling from the sky; she then became a full-fledged fan as well. Throughout the movie I explained to Sis how I could identify with the characters in this movie, my father could be a dead ringer for Ralphie’s father.
I love sharing moments in time with my granddaughter, it makes our time together all the more precious.
During the program we began discussing my christmas list, which I keep on my desk and exactly what she’d wished for this year. She was surprised because grandma LeahSay has almost finished up this years holiday shopping.; and yet wouldn’t share the details of her holiday gift.
